
Mount Saint John (MSJ) is a residential treatment program that provides comprehensive and integrated treatment services to adolescent boys and young men who are not able to function in their home community due to combinations of behavioral, emotional, family and educational problems. The staff and Board of Mount Saint John are committed to providing a treatment program to meet the evolving and changing needs of the times and of the boys who come into our care.

Saint John is a private, non-profit agency, providing programs for boys who
are in need of structured residential and educational services. The Mount
Saint John STEP UP! Treatment Model is based on the well respected Psycho-Educational
Treatment Model developed at Father Flanagan's Girls and Boys Town in Nebraska.
Beginning with the 2003-04 school year, MSJ added a Day School program. It
is situated on 80 acres overlooking the Connecticut River.

Approach to Services: Through its STEP UP!model of treatment services, the staff at Mount Saint John provide individualized, skill and goal directed treatment for each of the boys. Diagnostic, counseling and behavior management services and individualized education programs are provided within a residential setting. Each boy's treatment program is reviewed on a monthly basis. Clincial excellence is combined with a nurturing, home-like atmosphere.
Funding
- residential fees are primarily paid by the Department of Children and Families or by private and third party payers
- educational costs are paid by the student's home school system.
