Mount Saint John is an AA/EEO Employer.

The mission of Mount Saint John is to provide the most effective treatment environment for at-risk boys and young men to return them to society empowered and confident of success.

The staff and Board of Directors of Mount Saint John (MSJ) are pleased to celebrate two full years of partnership with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families and Fr. Flanagan's Girls and Boys Town of Nebraska.  During this time, we have trained our entire staff to use the MSJ STEP UP! program model, based on the Boys Town Psycho-Educational Model (PEM) to provide the highest quality of care for the boys at MSJ.

The MSJ program consists of residential, clinical and educational services for adolescent boys in five residential units on MSJ's Deep River campus. The MSJ STEP UP! treatment model promotes the development of pro-social skills and the achievement of relational, behavioral and other treatment goals to prepare the boys for successful return to their communities following placement. We offer therapuetic recreation and vocational readiness programs to support our skill-based, interactive learning model.   At MSJ, we believe that our STEP UP! model helps our boys reduce truancy, substance abuse, school-related problems and juvenile and adult arrests when they return home or move into independent living programs.

Our staff work as a team provide a safe environment where each boy is called to growth and given the opportunity of physical, emotional, academic, and spiritual development. Mount Saint John makes every effort to meet the cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the boys in our care.  Mindful of its mission, Mount Saint John does not place limits on its services to youth based on national origin, disability or faith.

MSJ is committed to child and employee safety at all times.  We conduct Connecticut State Police and Department of Children and Family background checks as a condition of employment.  MSJ requires pre-employment drug testing and PPD (TB) testing. For most positions, a pre-employment physical exam is required.  MSJ is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer. Federal Law requires proper identification and proof of employment eligibility and encourages applications from qualified women and minorities.

If you would like to join a team that is commited to safety, creativity and leadership then we would like to hear from you.
