The Academy at Mount Saint John — Highlights

  • The Academy at Mount Saint John offers a therapeutic learning environment with high academic rigor and strong vocational options with certifications and stipends for young men ages 11-21.
  • During the 2015-2016 school year, more than 20% of our students have successfully returned to less-restrictive, public school settings; always our goal when possible!
  • Students can earn credits/stipends while working on campus or jobs in the community.
  • Our extended day and year programming allows for additional credit earnings and certification opportunities.  High School student can earn 8 credits per year AND certifications in ServSafe and HBI PACT (pre-apprentice certification training), OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Transition students (18-21) can earn certifications, stipends and learn independent living skills; Vocational assessments are included.
  • Students and staff have access to Chromebooks and Google Classroom.
  • Students complete STAR and SSIS assessments.  Teachers, students and parents are provided with data regarding needs and growth.  Students are provided with Intervention assignments to remediate areas of need.
  • We support individualized planning and progress monitoring through IEP Direct and In Sync with each district and student.
  • AMSJ provides flexible scheduling to students who are best served in a hybrid model of public school and clinical day school models and/or diagnostic placements.
  • AMSJ provides a supportive learning environment as an alternative to expulsion, home schooling, or tutoring.
